I’ve tried to set a routine for myself. I’ve reserved Mondays for book reviews. Hopefully, I keep up with my goal of reading one book a week between writing so I’ll have something for my lovely readers.
Reena’s bookshelf: 2010-reads
Expect my review Monday, November 29, 2010 on my blog: http://blog.reenajacobs.com/2010/11/nove…
With Hush Money, I never knew what would happen next, so I just kept turning the pages. Pretty much each scene ended on an ‘OMG! I can’t believe that just happened’ moment. Then we get to the place where a lot of books have what folks call …
Middle grade books typically aren’t my thing, but I found this read quite amusing. Goblin Brothers was also a joy to read to my preschooler. I admit some of the words were out of his league, especially with his communication delay. However,…

It looks like my reviews are rather spread out. I might do this one sooner than later. I missed my Friday post this week. Maybe this’ll be penance. 🙂
Update: Review will be up 8/3/2010 at http://blog.reenajacobs.com/2010/08/nove…
One thing for sure, I immediately connected with the characters. I didn’t know what the “Hunger Games” were, but by page 13, I wanted to cry for the children. They lived a hard life but made the best of it. More than that, they flourished i…
One thing Ms. Collins has going for her is she’s not afraid to kill of her characters. The good guys don’t always win, so it’s nice to see a bit of realism once in a while.

Overall, this was a most excellent read! I felt like I was reading a comic book in novel format. Other times, it had me laughing so hard, I couldn’t continue because the tears blinded my vision.

Overall, this was a great read. So good in fact, it almost made my 2010 favorites. What held it back? This was my first Happy For Now ending. And I’ve come to find out that I’m not too fond of those. I don’t have to have a Happily Ever Afte…

I wrote it. I read it. Of course I loved it! That’s not too bias, is it? 🙂
Expect my review Monday, December 13, 2010 on my blog: http://blog.reenajacobs.com/2010/12/nove…
This is one of those novels I complained a lot while reading, but in all honesty, it wasn’t a horrible book. I can see the appeal others might have with it. It reminded me a lot of Men in Black but with a woman as the main character. The di…

I’ve finally finished reading this book. The reviews are available on my blog at the following sites:

My review for the Darkest Passion can be found on my blog at: http://blog.reenajacobs.com/2010/06/nove…
Unlike the last novel, The Darkest Passion , where the first six chapters dragged and gave me a feeling of deja vu, The Darkest Lie started quite well. Gideon was the first Lord I’ve seen who actually got along (somewhat) with his demon. It…
I started this book with a bad attitude because of thoughts of BSDM and slavery. I can’t tell you how surprised I was when I couldn’t put it down. I devoured this book in one sitting, page after page after page. Comfort Foods was so good, i…
So the beginning had me hooked. Then Ms. Ward added another storyline, and things sort of went downhill from there. Plot after plot after plot emerged. None of them seemed to go deep or long enough to really perk my interest. It took me awh…

I stayed up well into the night to finish this read. If it weren’t for the breaks I had to take between laughing fits, I probably would have finished sooner.
